ClashVerge documentation

For first-time users: install, import subscriptions, choose proxy modes, and handle basic troubleshooting. UI labels may vary slightly by version.

Quick start

  1. 1. Download the package for your platform

Go to the download page and pick the Stable release for your OS and chip.

  2. 2. Install and launch ClashVerge

After installation, launch the client. First run may request system permissions (firewall, service install, etc.)—approve as prompted.

  3. 3. Import a config and enable the proxy

Import a subscription or local YAML, enable system proxy (or TUN), then select a node and run a delay test.

Installation

Windows

Run the 64-bit (x64) installer x64-setup.exe. If WebView2 is missing, use a fixed WebView2 package or install the Microsoft WebView2 Runtime first.

macOS

Open the DMG and drag the app into Applications. If macOS blocks an unidentified developer, allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security. Match the package to your chip.

Linux

Use DEB on Debian / Ubuntu, or RPM on Fedora / RHEL. Other formats may be available in Releases. Follow your distro docs for GUI dependencies and permissions.

Import subscription / config

  1. Open Profiles in the client.
  2. Choose New / Import, paste an HTTPS subscription URL, or import a local YAML file.
  3. Wait for the fetch to finish; if it fails, check network, URL validity, and HTTPS.
  4. Enable the profile and confirm proxy groups and rules loaded correctly.

Note: This site does not provide subscriptions or nodes. Only use configs you lawfully obtain and that comply with local regulations.

System proxy & TUN

System proxy

Best for browsers and apps that honor system proxy settings. Simple and ideal for daily use.

TUN mode

Captures broader traffic via a virtual NIC—useful for CLI tools or apps that ignore system proxy. May require a service component and elevated permissions.

Also learn Rule / Global / Direct modes: Rule mode is recommended for daily use so policy decides what is proxied vs direct.

Node selection & latency tests

  • On Proxies, choose a proxy group and node.
  • Use Delay Test to quickly filter usable nodes.
  • If latency is high or times out, switch nodes, check whether the subscription expired, or inspect logs for handshake failures.

Troubleshooting

Subscription update failed

Verify the URL, local network, and certificates; clear cache and retry; or manually download the config and import it locally.

No internet after enabling proxy

Switch to Direct to confirm the machine itself is online; then check the current node, overly strict rules, DNS settings, and whether the TUN service started correctly.

Port conflict

If the mixed, HTTP/SOCKS, or control port is occupied, change it in settings and update any external tools that depend on that port.
